ANAMBRA WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES SMILE HOME FOR INCLUSIVE PALLIATIVE DISTRIBUTION
Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with Anambra State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and UN Women Partnership distributed Palliatives to vulnerable women affected by COVID-19 Pandemic gave palliatives to Widows and Women with Disabilities in Anambra State.
Hon. Commissioner for Ministry of Children and Women Affairs - Hon.Ndidi Mezue while making the presentation to women with disabilities said the palliatives was to cushion the effects of COVID 19 Pandemic on them.
More than 25 women with disabilities that benefited from the palliatives came from the following LGAs; Aguata, Orumba South, Awka South, Njikoka, Orumba North, Oyi, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Anaocha, Onitsha South, Ihiala, Idemili North and Anambra East LGAs respectively.
The State JONAPWD Chairman Comr. Ugochukwu Okeke unbehalf of disability community thanks the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Children and Women Affairs (De Digital Commissioner) for her motherly love and care towards persons with disabilities in the state and equally extended his appreciation to the Federal Minister for Women Affairs for finding Anambra state worthy to benefit from the Palliative distribution.
He finally reminded women with disabilities that covid-19 is real and urge them to continue to observe the preventive measures to remain safe. Some of the food items packaged for the beneficiaries are: 5kg rice, garri, beans, tins of tomatoes, 5 pics of face mask,1gallon of red oil (5 litre),1packet of magic,1 sachet of salt, Detergent, 2 tablet of soaps and 1carton of indomie.
